Background

The Autumn Art Exhibition in Foxton is held in November each year at the Village Hall. It is organised by a committee of dedicated volunteers. The exhibition raises money on behalf of the Friends of Foxton School to provide the children with facilities and activities. The aim of these exhibitions to display and sell quality works of art from prominent local artists in a village setting.

The exhibition was originally held in the old school building and was a successful, annual event. When the school moved premises, the exhibition disappeared for a while.

Since its reinstatement in 2003, the exhibition has not only raised in excess of £10,000 for the school, but has received praise from artists and visitors for the professional and tasteful presentation of local art work. Each year the exhibition has grown and since 2008, the work has been displayed in two halls.
